Getting to know goldenrod

There was a time when I didn’t know goldenrod. 

I didn’t know its Latin name, solidago; I didn’t know that solidago means “to make whole, to cure.” I didn’t know goldenrod is native to North America; that it is an aster (along with daisies and sunflowers) and a healer, hence its Latin name.
